Where Marine Science Meets Conservation
Our Impact
Real science. Real impact. Powered by you.
At The Salty Lab, every project is designed to move science beyond data collection and into real-world change. Our research focuses on shark physiology, coastal ecosystem health, and the impacts of urbanization on critical nursery habitats.
From studying juvenile bonnethead sharks as indicators of environmental stress to analyzing how habitat degradation affects broader marine systems, our work is built to generate data that informs management, restoration, and policy decisions.
We translate that research into education that meets people where they are. Our materials are intentionally designed for different age groups and learning levels, from classroom-aligned lesson kits and educator resources to accessible, story-driven content that makes marine science both engaging and relevant.
Because science alone is not enough.
Every dataset, every lesson, and every partnership is part of a larger goal: connecting research to policy. Whether supporting habitat protection, informing coastal management strategies, or strengthening environmental literacy, our work is rooted in creating measurable, lasting impact.
Beyond the lab, we bring this mission into the real world through outreach, collaborations, and community engagement, building a bridge between scientists, students, and decision-makers working to protect our oceans.
At The Salty Lab, we turn ocean science into action. Through hands-on research, education, and storytelling, we empower people to understand and protect our seas.
Every project connects fieldwork to real-world impact, from classrooms and communities to the policies that shape our coasts.
When you support The Salty Lab, you help science move beyond data to drive lasting conservation and change.
